Gallery Common is pleased to present the international group exhibition “REFLECTIONS: PERFORMANCE” on view from April 25 to May 24, 2026.

Curated by Matt Black, the exhibition brings together works by Kazuo Shiraga alongside those of Joe Bradley, Ida Ekblad, Aaron Garber-Maikovska, Spencer Lewis, Angel Otero, Marco Pariani, José Parlá, Ichi Tashiro, Pablo Tomek, Janaina Tschäpe and Anke Weyer.Bringing together artists from diverse cultural backgrounds—including the United States, Europe, South America, and Asia—the exhibition offers an opportunity to consider contemporary abstract painting from an international and multilayered perspective.

The exhibition focuses on resonances that emerge between the work of Shiraga and contemporary artists who continue to explore the possibilities of abstraction. Shiraga redefined painting not simply as image but as a physical act. Gesture, born from the encounter between body and material, appears simultaneously as trace and event.
